Surface: 236.040 Kmq..... Uganda is a landlocked country, bordering Sudan in the North, Rep. of Congo in the west, Rwanda and Tanzania in the South, and Kenya in the East.
 
Population: about 26 million inhabitants
 
Climate: The climate of Uganda cannot be categorized into any single climatic zone, although it has been generally categorized as a 'Modified Tropical' climate. Its central location on the East African Plateau is a major determining factor in the local climate. In reality Uganda has three sub-climatic zones differentiated mainly by altitude and rainfall. Uganda's equatorial climate is tempered by cooling breezes from the mountains. In general terms the lowland area and lakeshores enjoy a warm climate, while it is cooler in the highlands. The rains are mainly between March to May and September to November.
 
Visa: Visas are required by all except nationals from Angola,. Antigua, Barbados, Gambia, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Malta, Mauritius, Madagascar, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Zambia, Zimbabwe.  These can be obtained from Uganda's Diplomatic and Consular Missions abroad. It is possible to get issued a visa on arrival at Entebbe Airport as long as one satisfies the entry requirements. However, it is advisable that you get your visas before you embark on the trip to Uganda to avoid unnecessary paper work at point of entry. On arrival in the country, you may be asked to show you have sufficient funds to support your stay and that you have an onward ticket. PASSPORTS: Passport valid for at least 6 months required by all.

System: Unitary Republic. New constitution concluded in 1995 the government restored the legal system to one based on English common law and customary law and reinstated a normal judicial system; present government legally elected in 2001. Colonized by: British Independence:  9 October 1962.
 
Languages: Official language is English, But has other major ethinic launguages such as Luganda, Swahili, Runyakitara and Nilotic languages
 
Religions:  Basically a Christian country with major ones - Roman Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, Muslim and other indigenous beliefs
 
Money: Uganda Shilling (USh)
 
Tourist Attractions – Abundant gamelife that include the big 5, gorillas, chimpanzee, giraffe, zebras etc; birdlife, forests, mountains, rivers, lakes, floral and fauna, cultural sites, community villages.
 
Economy – basically an agricultural country – with coffee, cotton, tobacco, horticulture, various fruits, sweet bananas etc.
 
Education System – 7 yrs in Primary, 4 yrs Secondary, 2yrs High College, 3 yrs to 7 yrs University
